Support sought for 24-hour charity cyclathon in Redditch

A REDDITCH man is seeking support as he hops into the saddle this week for a 24 hour static bike ride in aid of charity.

At 9am onThursday (November 17) Ryan Kettle will begin the mammoth challenge on a static bike at Willow Trees Community Centre, raising money for Children In Need with every turn of the wheels.

Youth and Community worker Ryan hopes to complete as much of the challenge by himself as possible, but is still seeking volunteers to join him and help him clock up the miles throughout the 24-hour period.

“I’m looking for people to spare 30 minutes of their time to ride alongside me on the second bike – and I will have Fifa 17 set up on a projector screen to keep us busy as we go.

“I am looking forward to the challenge as it’s for such an amazing cause.

“I would also like to say a massive thank you to Redditch Borough Council and Abbey Stadium for generously donating two static bikes for us – without them we really wouldn’t be able to make this happen.”
