Survey into your experiences of lockdown health services

Redditch Editorial 7th Jun, 2020   0

WHAT did Redditch residents think about accessing information and health and social care services during the Covid-19 pandemic?

That’s the question from Healthwatch Worcestershire which is anxious to draw up a picture of people’s experiences.

The health watchdog is running a survey so they it help local NHS and care services understand what is working well, any issues or concerns and what further information is needed.

The survey has been developed with the NHS and Worcestershire County Council to make sure it provides them with the information they need.

“We want to understand where those changes have improved access to services or helped improve experience of care for our patients, and by completing Healthwatch’s survey people can help us to build on what we have achieved,” said Matthew Hopkins, the chief executive of Worcestershire Acute Hospital NHS Trust.

Councillor Simon Geraghty, the Leader of Worcestershire County Council added: “It is very important for us to hear and properly understand how coronavirus is affecting lives of residents.

“The information from the Healthwatch survey will help us ensure people are getting the support they need.”

So far more than 2,000 people have taken part, however, they still need more people to share their experiences and are now especially keep to hear from residents of Redditch, those from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities and people with a learning disability and autism.

“You can help services understand the issues that are affecting care for you and your loved ones by telling us,” said

Peter Pinfield, chairman, Healthwatch Worcestershire.

“It’s our job to listen to people’s experiences, sharing your views with those who can do something about it. Your feedback really could help services to save lives.”

The survey is available online at www.healthwatchworcestershire.co.uk/covid-19-survey/ or for paper copies or an Easy Read survey email: [email protected] or call 01386 550264.
