THE CREATIVE talents of two Worcestershire students have earned them a top accolade from their college.
Teenagers Maddy Marley and Sennen Ashford have been named as joint overall winners of Worcester Sixth Form College’s art and design department
A presentation award ceremony will be held at the college in December.
Maddy, who lives in Inkberrow, plans to continue her studies by taking a fine arts degree at Hereford College of Arts.
Tutor Alice Malone, said: “Maddy is a very talented artist and an asset to the class and I am sure she will go far.”
Maddy, aged 17, said: “I was shocked to get the award because there are so many talented individuals on the course. But, I must admit, finding out was a lovely surprise.”
Proud grandfather Fred Bromwich added: “The standard of work on show was outstanding.
“So the whole family was delighted to learn that Maddy’s talent should have been recognised in such a positive way.”
Examples of Maddy’s artwork and Sennen’s graphic designs were among items on display when the college staged an end-of-summer-term exhibition.
All the work in the collection had been created by the college’s art and design students.
