A TAXI driver was kneed in the stomach and punched in the head when he asked two passengers for their fare.

The yobs, described as two men in their 20s where shirts and jeans, had taken the taxi from Leamington to Hopkins Precinct on Kinwarton Road in Alcester.

When they arrived they said they needed to go to the cashpoint but instead walked off without offering payment.

The taxi driver stopped them, but was then attacked.

The incident happened at 2am in the morning on Monday, May 29.
