REDDITCH MP Rachel Maclean visited local firm Ubi-Tech (3R) Ltd recently to congratulate them on their partnership with global telecommunications giant Ericsson.
Ubi-Tech are UK front runners in telecoms training and have recently become Ericssons preferred trainer with an estimated 260 people expected to go through its programme.
Mrs Maclean revealed she has a shared passion for telecoms and having herself built a business in IT and software, she has an understanding of the challenges small businesses face when working with multinationals.
She said she was happy to see such a good partnership with Ericsson where Ubi-Tech was being treated as a partner, not as a small business.
Mrs Maclean, who was accompanied by county and borough councillor Tom Baker-Price, said: “Ubu-Tech train a lot of ex-forces personnel and are going from strength to strength.
“They want to bring innovative and cutting edge technology, such as Li-Fi (UV-visible light communication instead of radio-frequency) to Redditch.”
Ubi-Tech are hoping to expand their business in Redditch, chosen because of its good transport links to rail, road and airports as well as local workers and skills.
