THE mystery surrounding the identity of three Redditch footballers from a team 60 years ago has been solved, thanks to readers of the Redditch Standard.
After we ran a story appealing for those who recognised the men in the photograph of Terry’s AFC to come forward, all the blanks had been filled in within just a few days.
The squad in full are: standing, Tony Browning, Nobby Clarke, Rodney Heath, John “Yakker” Yates and Eric Onions; and sitting, Terry Hudson, Bob King, Mike Cater, Stan Swimbourne, Nick Butt and Mike Onions.
The photograph of the team, managed by Mr. W. Onions, is dated around March 14, 1955.
