A MAJOR food collection drive in aid of Redditch foodbank is to be held at the Coldfield Drive branch of Tesco.
Starting from tomorrow, Thursday, August 20 it will run until Saturday, August 22.
The plan is to have a large collection bin in the store where people can deposit items they’ve bought to help families struggling left reliant on the food bank to get by.
Tesco Redditch’s community champion Mollie-Mae Hallahan said: “In the current climate, the food bank is in urgent need of items such as long life milk, canned meats, baked beans, canned soup, tinned vegetables, rice, pasta and non food items such as toiletries and sanitary products.
“Supporting our local food bank is very important to ensure we as a community are helping to support those who are the most vulnerable and any donations made to the food collection, no matter how big or small will be very much appreciated.”
Tesco Extra Redditch will be open from 6am to 12midnight for donations.
