WEBHEATH Academy Primary School is looking to improve its Forest School area and is calling on Redditch residents to help by casting a vote for them in Tesco’s Bags of Help initiative, writes Annie Davidson.
The Tesco initiative, in conjunction with the environmental group Groundwork, is a community funding scheme to give local projects the opportunity to receive a grant of either £4,000, £2,000 or £1,000, all raised from carrier bag sales.
Three groups have been shortlisted for the award and Webheath Academy Primary School is one of them.
Now staff are appealing for residents’ support so it can improve its Forest School.
“We are very thankful to Tesco for providing us with this opportunity,” said a school spokeswoman.
“The skills acquired in the Forest School environment can be used throughout life to help children solve problems with greater self-confidence and determination.”
Customers can cast their vote using a token given to them at the check-out each time they shop.
