THE REAL ISSUES: SUSAN Juned, the Liberal Democrat candidate for the Redditch Parliamentary seat described the General election as the most crucial in her lifetime.
“It’s about the kind of world we want to live in, the kind of world we want for our children to grow up in and our parents to grow old in,” she said.
“In all 23 per cent of children in Redditch are growing up in poverty, education and health services are facing huge cuts and at Westminster we have politicians who are not being honest with people and are not asking the difficult questions or holding the Government to account.”
She dismissed Brexit as a ‘vanity project’ when the real issues facing the country were education, health and the economy.
“I want to see a penny in the £1 put on income tax to raise the money for our hospital.
“If we want services like the Alexandra Hospital to continue then we have to find ways of paying for it.
“We need to be dealing the real issues the people of Redditch face day in day out, not some vanity project that is going to cost us huge sums of money.
“For Brexit we are going to have to re-negotiate 179 separate trade deals. What a waste of time and effort, effort better spent on the pressing issues this country faces.”
