The search is on in Redditch for the Young Good Citizens of 2017

Redditch Editorial 26th May, 2017   0

AN opportunity to recognise the great work done by young people in the Redditch community has arisen as the searched for the Young Good Citizens of 2017 begins.

Police want to hear about young people aged 18 or under who have displayed great spirit and are making a real difference. Nominations are particularly sought for young people who have overcome challenges in their own lives and have still been able to make a difference to others in their community.

A police spokesperson said: “The event allows us to deliver a positive message about our youth to the wider public and strengthens the relationship between police and young people.

“We want to recognise and publicise the great work done by many young people in our communities.”

Nominations can by made by schools, youth leaders, and members of the public and all nominees meeting the criteria will receive a Young Good Citizen Certificate from their Safer Neighbourhood Police Team.

Ten of these (two from each policing area) along with the person that proposed them, will be invited to a final awards ceremony at Police HQ attended by Chief Officers and High Sheriffs.
