There is cheaper power in a union for Redditch residents

Redditch Editorial 4th Oct, 2017   0

NEARLY 200 households have already signed up to save money on their energy bills with the Worcestershire Energy Switch.

The scheme, being run by the county council, is open to all county residents, enabling them to get a better deal on their energy.

Councillor Tony Miller, cabinet member with responsibility for environment said: “We’re mindful of fuel poverty and that’s why we’ve launched this scheme, to help people afford their household energy.”

Once registered, Worcestershire Energy Switch will negotiate competitive prices with energy companies on residents’ behalf.

Those registered will receive a no-obligation, personalised offer from an energy company, showing them how much they can save.

Residents who have been with their supplier for a long time may be paying too much, and may find that an alternative supplier will be able to offer a cheaper tariff.

Registration is open until midnight, October 9, 2017, with personalised offers being emailed to residents from October 23, 2017.

Sign up online at www.worcestershire.gov.uk/energyswitch, call 0800 988 2881 or visit a local registration event.
