Theresa May P45 prankster Lee Nelson set for Redditch Palace gig

THE man who delivered that P45 to Theresa May is appearing live on stage at the Palace Theatre, Redditch, on Friday, October 20.

Lee Nelson shocked the nation when he presented the P45 as the Prime Minister delivered her keynote speech at last week’s Conservative Party conference in Manchester.

He said ‘Prime Minister, Boris told me to give you this’ and after she bent to take it from him he turned to Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, gave him the thumbs-up sign and said ‘Boris, job done’.

Nelson, real name Simon Brodkin, has a colourful history of pulling pranks but this time he was tackled by security guards and escorted from the building. He was later released without charge by Greater Manchester Police.

His stunt non-plussed Mrs May but it was a sign of mishaps to come as she then endured a long bout of coughing before part of the slogan on the wall behind her fell off.

However, she spoke for many when later she said she doubted if many people at home found the prank funny.

Now Redditch residents can judge the man for themselves as Lee Nelson returns to the Palace with his new show ‘Serious Joker’.

The comic sold out on his previous visit to the Palace in March and this latest edition is billed as his best ever stand-up show.

Tickets are £21 in person from the box office or on 01527 65203 or buy online at www.redditchpalacetheatre.co.uk.
