A MULTI-award winning play, an unmissable theatre production and the next installment of a classic animation are the headline events to be brought to the big screen by Vue Redditch this August.
The line-up at the cinema in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre opens with the new staging of Tony Kushner’s multi-award winning two-part play Angels in America, (Part I, August 8, part II 15) directed by Olivier and Tony award winning director Marianne Elliott.
Set in 1980s America, New Yorkers are walking the line between life and death, as crisis breaks out in the city.
Andrew Garfield plays Prior Walter along with a cast including Denise Gough, Nathan Lane, James McArdle and Russell Tovey.
Later in the month, Billie Piper returns in her Evening Standard Best Actress award-winning role in Yerma (August 31).
Directed by Simon Stone, this radical production follows a young woman as she is driven to the unthinkable by her desperate desire to have a child.
Children aren’t left out either with a screening of Thomas & Friends: Journey Beyond Sodor, where determined to prove his importance, Thomas takes James’ truck and sets off on a big adventure to the mainland (August 15).
