THREE men jumped out of a car and attacked a young man with a knife as he walked down Burcot Lane last night.
They quickly made off in their vehicle in the direction of Birmingham Road, at around 9pm, after leaving the victim, aged in his 20s, with a cut arm.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment but has since been released as his injuries are not life-threatening.
Detective Constable John Coleman said: “This is believed to be an isolated incident with no wider threat to the public as those involved are believed to be known to each other.
“While no arrests have been made, investigations are ongoing and we are appealing for any witnesses to this assault, which left a man requiring hospital treatment, to please come forward.”
