THREE Olympic gold medallists will be lining on the Redditch race track as the Tour Series comes to town this evening (Tuesday, May 9).
Down to ride are Ed Clancy OBE for JLT Condor in the men’s Tour Series race while both Katie Archibald of Team WNT and Elinor Barker of Team Breeze will be riding in the Matrix Fitness GP Series.
Also riding are Beth Crumpton of Storey Racing from Redditch and Emily Kay of Team WNT of Bromsgrove.
In the men’s race, which starts at 7.30pm, Clancy’s JLT Condor will be the team to beat with strong challenges likely to come from Matt Cronshaw and Johnny McEvoy from Madison Genesis and Chris Opie from Bike Channel Canyon.
In the women’s event, which starts at 5.30pm, Scotland’s Katie Archibald will be the one to beat although repeated climbs of Unicorn Hill could steadily wear her down opening the door for the likes of Alice Barnes of Drops or her team mate Eileen Roe.
The action starts with a men’s team time trial at 2.45pm.
