AN INDEPENDENT Alcester jewellery business is celebrating winning a top industry award in recognition for its new shop.
Camilla Jones, which makes and restores jewellery, won store design of the year at the recent UK Jewellery Awards 2024 in London.
The prize category was open to businesses which have undergone a re-fit, moved to new premises, or opened a new outlet.
Judges praised the colour, texture, vintage furnishings and quirky touches in the boutique business that opened in July 2023 after it had outgrown a smaller shop across the road on High Street.

A children’s area that encourages youngsters to engage with old tools was also mentioned as well as a cocktail cabinet for adults for bespoke events.
The flourishing business, started in 2014 by professional jeweller, Camilla Jones and husband Ben, employs 11 people, five of whom are workshop jewellers.
It specialises in bespoke commissions, repairs and sells an eclectic range of antique and vintage pieces alongside contemporary jewellery created by British designers.
The judges noted the workshop area which is visible to shoppers ‘pays homage to slow, intentional craftsmanship’.
Camilla said she was ‘thrilled and delighted’ to win the award.
“We were up against big names like Pandora and so didn’t expect to win,” she said. “It was a big gamble moving to the new shop but the additional space is really working for us and transforming the business.
“We are really excited about the future and what we are able to do.”
She told the Standard she had put the business in for the award as acknowledgement for how hard the staff have worked to get the new shop up and running.
“They have been amazing so I feel some recognition is deserved.”
