Top speakers as Redditch Older People's Forum gets back in gear

Redditch Editorial 16th Apr, 2022   0

REDDITCH Older People’s Forum is up and running again and has already had two top guest speakers.

Michele Campbell, manager at Redditch Library and Derek Coombes, one of the trustees at Redditch Local History Museum joined the forum at their first meeting following the pandemic.

Former borough councillor and chair of the forum Pat Witherspoon formerly opened the museum last year while the library acts as a vital link for so many senior residents.

Run by volunteers and supported by Redditch Borough Council and Worcestershire County Council the Older People’s Forum aims is to meet monthly to share information from all agencies backed by regular speakers and the latest updates.

Pat has said: “We listen and share complaints and praises and to do this we need the benefit of Redditch older people’s views.

“We are also very concerned that some clubs and associations have closed during the pandemic increasing loneliness and isolation across our town.

“However we can help ourselves.

“Over 50? come and join us.”

Redditch Older People’s Forum meets on the second Thursday of every month at the Ecumenical Centre in Evesham Walk from 10.15am.
