Tory offer to set up meetings to tackle anti social behaviour in Church Hill

CONSERVATIVE Councillors in Church Hill have offered to host meetings for residents affected by anti-social behaviour in the area.

Speaking at a recent Police and Community Together meeting, Coun Mike Rouse said: “We have to approach these things very carefully as anti-social behaviour is difficult to quantify at times and we need to be conscious of dispersing the issue rather than tackling it.”

A similar set of meetings were hosted by Coun Craig Warhurst in Astwood Bank and Feckenham in 2018 and managed to reduce anti-social behaviour incidents in Sambourne Lane park.

Coun Rouse, portfolio holder for leisure and cultural services at the council added: “In my role at the council I am acutely aware that we need to provide more things for our young people to see and do.

“As a father myself, I don’t want my children hanging around in unsafe spaces, being a bother to local residents and I am sure many local parents feel the same way.

“We as a local community must also do our bit locally and I want to thank Church Hill Big Local in particular for everything they do in our area to make it nicer and provide things for people to do,” added Coun Rouse.

To arrange a meeting, contact Coun Rouse on 07743 125474 or Coun Ann Isherwood on 07771 814254.

Residents are also urged to report any anti-social behaviour to police on 101.
