TWO lanes of the northbound M42 by Redditch are closed this afternoon as Highways England works to remove a spillage of several drums of polythene resin.
The carriageway is affected between junction 3 (Portway / Redditch) and junction 3a following a collision between a HGV and car at around 12.30pm.
The HGV and car have been moved to the hard shoulder and partners from the fire service have been assisting.
Lane 3 remains open past the incident.
Highways England operations manager Dave Yates said: “We’re working to deal with the spillage of the non-hazardous resin as quickly as possible but we’d urge drivers to plan their journeys, allow extra time and consider other routes.”
