TRAVEL ALERT - Warning to drivers ahead of Redditch car park closure

Tristan Harris 14th Oct, 2024 Updated: 14th Oct, 2024   0

A CAR PARK in Redditch is set to be closed for essential improvement work and resurfacing.

Cleeve Close Car Park will be completely shut on October 29 and 30 so it can be resurfaced.

The work – which will see the old surface planed off and a new one put down – is being done deliberately during this time to coincide with the October half-term holiday.

Residents using the car park are being urged to remove their cars from the area and the car park before work starts on October 29.

The work, to be completed by the council’s contractors Kelbec, will be noisy and dusty. Cars left in close proximity to the works are left at the owners’ risk, as the planing of the old tarmac could cause damage.

Redditch Borough Council’s portfolio holder for environmental services, Coun Sharon Harvey, said: “We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause for residents of the area whilst these works are taking place.

“We have been careful to time this work to cause the least impact possible, having it take place during October half term.

“We hope the improvement to the facility outweighs the inconvenience felt.”

This work forms part of a bigger ongoing improvement project around the borough.

Call Matthew Mead on 01527 64252 or email him at [email protected] for more on the work.
