TRAVEL UPDATE - Fallen tree at Longbridge means no trains between Birmingham to Redditch and Bromsgrove for the rest of the day

LATEST UPDATE – There will still be no trains today (Sunday, December 8), operating between Birmingham New Street and Bromsgrove and Redditch.

This is due to Storm Darragh yesterday when high winds brought down a tree on the line near Longbridge, blocking the line.

West Midlands Railway has said rail replacement buses will serve the stations along the Cross City Line until further notice.

ALL TRAINS on the Cross City Line between Birmingham New Street and Bromsgrove and Redditch have been cancelled.

There will be no trains until the end of the day on the line, which also serves Barnt Green, Alvechurch, Longbridge and Northfield for the rest of the day.

The tree fell and blocked the line between Birmingham New Street and Longbridge.

National Express West Midlands are accepting passengers between Birmingham New Street and Longbridge in both directions until further notice.




Rail Replacement (supplied via Stagecoach) are accepting passengers between Longbridge and Redditch in both directions until further notice.

The Met Office has put a weather warning in place for the rest of the day after Storm Darragh brought high winds and heavy rain.
