Treasure trove in Astwood Bank: Unearth a gem in new shop

Redditch Editorial 11th Oct, 2017   0

‘A NEW curiosity shop’ selling antiques, vintage, retro and re-purposed pieces together with works of art has opened in Astwood Bank.

Bank Architectural Salvage is in an old needle and spring factory on Queen Street and business owner Shaun Street reckons the Queen Street venture is unique to Redditch.

“We’ve sublet the floor space to dealers and we’re now full with plenty of people finding us,” said Shaun, a former electrical wholesaler who gave it all up to pursue doing something he loved.

“There is a mix of all types from some new furniture to old antiques, also a huge range of decorative items glassware, pottery, jewellery, silverware and collectable toys.

“We also have a couple of artists we are promoting including Paul Hill aka ‘Chilly’ the drummer from the cult band ‘’And also the trees’’ who has a big following along with a new artist Kev Wills who is having an exhibition in Crabbs Cross in November.

“There’s nothing quite like it in Redditch.”
