West Mercia Police said three people were riding the bike. Two people arrested in related to the collision, aged 15 and 50, were released on bail, with a third person, 18, released under investigation.
Your Ideas Redditch, a youth and community group in the town, posted its own tribute to Layton on social media.
“We are heartbroken to share that a young person we supported for the past three years, Layton Cole, tragically lost his life yesterday in a road traffic accident. He was just 15 years old.
“Layton’s journey wasn’t always easy. Like many young people we work with, he faced challenges that shaped the path he was on. But to us, he was so much more than what others may have seen- he was funny, kind, thoughtful, and full of potential, with his cheeky smile and his dimples.
“His loss is a painful reminder of how important it is for us, as a community, to stand beside the young people who need us most. We hope Layton’s life inspires real change in how we listen, how we care, and how we show up for those who are struggling.
“Our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and all who loved him.
“Rest in peace, Layton. You will never be forgotten.”
