A TRIPLE bill of local talent are set to appear with chart toppers Toploader on stage at the Abbey Stadium tomorrow evening, Saturday, August 22.

Meg Scane, Mitch Loveridge and Stuart Woolfenden will all be on stage at the drive-in gig organised by Redditch-based company Drive and Live.

The firm is halfway through a fortnight of top acts at the Abbey Stadium screening films and showcasing live acts.

On Saturday it will be Toploader who take to stage.

The band found fame with their version of ‘Dancing in the Moonlight’ a song which Stuart Woolfenden well remembers growing up.

“It was one of my favourite songs and Toploader were one of my favourite bands so I’m really looking forward to the night,” he said.

This will be Stuart’s first live gig since lockdown started back in March and he said he can’t wait to get back on stage.

“I’ve been trying to keep busy, working on my music, working in the garden, doing a part time job, just keeping myself occupied,” he said.

He also did a livestream event in June and released a single too to keep his name out there.

“I’ll very excited about this gig – I’ll be performing with my acoustic guitar and hopefully the weather will be good to us!”

Drive and Live is Redditch’s very own socially distanced pop up drive in entertainment destination showcasing live comedy, live music, outdoor cinema classics and even an outdoor theatrical production.

Based at the side of the Abbey Stadium the creators promise good sight lines to the stage and LED video walls with live cameras to ensure fans never miss a thing.

The audio is sent direct to the car via FM so once people arrive they just have to tune their radio into the frequency provided to hear everything that’s going on.

There is also an uncovered seating/standing area for non-drivers with headphones provided for the performance.

Tickets are £60 per car up to a maximum of five people.

Following Stuart, Meg, Mitch and Toploader on Sunday August 23 there’s the UK Pink Floyd.
