THREE new senior doctors have been recruited by Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

Consultant radiologists Dr Aris Vasilogiannakis and Dr Marianna Telesca have been appointed to the radiology team at the trust.

Joining the trust from Morriston Hospital in Swansea, Dr Vasilogiannakis will be strengthening the county’s radiology service, which provides diagnostic scans and procedures across the county at the Alexandra, Kidderminster and Worcestershire Royal Hospitals, as well as Evesham and Malvern Community Hospitals. He said: “I am honoured to be part of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. This is a trust that gives you the opportunity to develop as a doctor while delivering top care for patients.”

Dr Telesca is joining the trust as a specialist in breast radiology. Her appointment further strengthens the services the trust has to offer following the recent opening of the dedicated breast screening unit at Kidderminster Hospital and Treatment Centre.

She said: “I’m glad to be starting in this exciting role and am looking forward to playing my part in supporting future projects and developing new services to better serve the local community.”

Dr Cheng Boon, consultant clinical oncologist, has been appointed to the trust’s oncology department, which treats patients living with cancer.

Specialising in the non-surgical treatment of head and neck and upper gastrointestinal cancers, Dr Boon will be mainly working from the Worcestershire Oncology Centre.
