Tudor Grange reverse roles for Children in Need

TEACHERS at a Redditch school shocked their students today (Friday, November 18) when they appeared in their school uniforms.

The students of Tudor Grange have been busy fundraising for Children in Need by supporting the charity with a non-uniform day and cake sale, however much to their surprise the staff surprised them this morning by turning up in uniforms themselves.

Elaine Dart, Learning mentor at Tudor Grange said “We have had such much fun with the students today.

“They put me on report this morning and they have been nagging me all day to tuck my shirt in and keep my top button done up.

“It has been a great way to have some fun with the students but more importantly raise money for such a good cause.”

Emily Barker, a Sixth Form student who has been responsible for leading on the charity events for Children in Need, said: “We are really pleased with how today went and our cake sale sold out really quickly.

“We’ve raised hundreds of pounds today –  we haven’t finished the final count but it’s the most we’ve ever raised for charity. We all had such a good day.”

Jodie Bolter, Principal, Tudor Grange Redditch explained why they felt it was so important to take part in charitable events and allow the students to come up with ideas and ways to fundraise.

“Today has been a really super day where the whole community has come together to fund raise,” she added.

“We are delighted with the amount raised and we look forward to continuing our charity work across the year.”
