Two arrested and drugs seized as police raid Redditch home

TWO PEOPLE have been arrested and class A drugs seized after police raided a property in Redditch this morning.

Officers swooped at the property in Exhall Close where they held a 21-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman on suspicion of being involved in the supply of drugs.

The Redditch Safer Neighbourhood Team were supported by the force’s operations unit as they took the drugs off the streets.

Insp Richard Field said: “It’s really important our community know they can tell us about issues concerning them and that they know we will investigate and then, if appropriate, act on the information provided.

“Drugs and the effect of growing and selling them can really hurt a community.

“This often leads to an increase in related crime and anti-social behaviour and it just won’t be tolerated.

“My clear message to those who deal or supply drugs; you are putting young people at risk and you are exploiting the vulnerable and this is something I won’t allow.”

He added today’s seizure was only possible by the public providing the crucial information and intelligence which enabled his team to obtain a search warrant.

“We will do everything we can to challenge serious and organised crime in our towns and villages.”

Anyone with concerns about or information on drugs being dealt in their community should report it online at westmercia.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/ or by calling 101.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
