UKIP choose former councillor to fight Redditch Parliamentary seat

Correspondent 13th Sep, 2018

THE UK Independence Party has chosen Paul Swansborough as it’s parliamentary candidate for Redditch.

“I’m delighted to have been re-selected and looking forward to taking the fight to Remain MP Rachel Maclean, who has backed Theresa May 100 per cent throughout the EU negotiations,” said Mr Swansborough, a former Redditch borough councillor.

“We believe that Brexit requires a completely new approach. Under the leadership of Gerard Batten, UKIP is the only party with a sensible plan that will see a phased exit so there is no cliff edge on March 29th 2019.

“This will give business the confidence that supply chains will not be interrupted and workers rights will be protected. A pragmatic framework will be put in place to guarantee Britain’s departure from the EU is made a success for all.

“The country is in desperate need of a new government that is resolute in delivering what the people voted for, but also prepared to tackle the domestic agenda that has been ignored for the last two years.”
