Uncle and niece inspired by Netflix flick create care packages for Redditch elderly

A BENEVOLENT uncle and his niece are busy putting together care packages for people living in Redditch nursing homes.

Texas Bishop, aged 23, and Zoe Goddard, 14, were inspired to work together after watching a film on Netflix called ‘Operation Christmas Drop’.

Wanting to replicate moments in the film, the pair decided they too could make a difference to people’s lives this year.

Zoe’s mum and Texas’ sister, Heidi Bishop, said: “My daughter sold loads of her clothes to raise money for hand creams, soaps, combs, gels and general smellies to put in the goodie bags.

“And my brother is organising a virtual quiz to raise extra cash to buy more items – he has £70 so far.

“Once the packages are finished, our plans is to drop them off at nursing homes just before Christmas – including the dementia unit at Bowood Court & Mews.”

The family is also hoping that locals will help aid their mission by donating smellies and gifts suitable for Christmas stockings over the next few days.

Heidi said she is happy to be contacted on her Facebook page – http://www.facebook.com/lovememates  – should you wish to donate.

“I’m just so proud of them both, it brought a tear to my eye,” added Heidi.
