A UNIQUE cafe designed to help break down the barriers between talented candidates and potential employers has opened in Redditch.
The Employment Cafe, based at the top of Unicorn Hill, is the brainchild of local business woman Jennie Lewis.
It offers a relaxed coffee shop environment where people can search for local opportunities, while sipping on their favourite cuppa.
“We provide services for both employers and candidates,” said Jennie.
“For employers we offer free job advertising, both online and in store, to help them attract new and exciting talent.”
The cafe also provides employers with off-site interview facilities, application sifting and reference checking.
“For candidates we offer guidance, advice and training to help each individual achieve their career goals,” said Jennie.
Redditch people will be able to build their CVs, learn new interview techniques and find out more about the latest vacancies directly from the cafe.
And to encourage people to visit, coffee is free until close of play on Wednesday, February 6.
To get her project moving Jennie reached out to HR Group managing director, David Hughes, for his support with her vision.
He said: “Last year Jennie came to me and told me she wanted to change the way people looked and found jobs in Redditch.
“Having worked in the recruitment industry for many years, it was clear she understood local employers and their need to attract and employ the right staff.
“I think it’s a great idea and is something new for the town.”
