A TWELFTH person has been arrested after a firearm was discharged in Redditch.
Around 1.15pm on March 26 police were called to Ombersley Close after a firearm was discharged in the street.
No-one was injured, however, a car was extensively damaged.
Yesterday morning (May 23) one man, aged 21, was arrested on suspicion of assisting offenders. He has since been released on bail.
Previously the following arrests have been made:
- Three men, 19, 21, 34, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
- One man, 38, and one woman, 21, have been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
- Three men, 21, 25, 26 and three women, 20, 26, 39, have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Detective Chief Inspector Ben Arrowsmith said: “Yesterday morning’s arrest highlights the extensive work we are doing to bring those responsible to justice.
“Our communities should not feel threatened by those who feel it is acceptable to pick up a weapon and use it amongst innocent people.
“I continue to appeal for people to come forward if they have any information about what happened that afternoon.
“You may feel the information you have is irrelevant, but however insignificant you think it may be, it could be the vital piece of information that will help with the investigation.”
A £20,000 reward has been offered by the independent charity Crimestoppers for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those linked to the incident.
