UPDATE - Motorcyclist seriously injured and woman arrested after crash on the A435 Alcester Road in Wythall

A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Wythall yesterday (Sunday).

The collision, involving a car and a motorbike, happened at 11.57am at the junction of A435 Alcester Road and Middle Lane.

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent two ambulances and two paramedic officers. The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance also attended the scene.

The rider was treated for serious injuries before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance.

The road was closed for some considerable time in both directions while the emergency services and Worcestershire Highways officers dealt with the incident.

A 45-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and of driving while unfit through drink or drugs. She has been released on bail while enquiries continue.




Following the incident, West Mercia Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage of the collision itself or either of the vehicles in the minutes before it to get in touch.

The collision happened on the roundabout by Becketts Farm and involved a Yamaha NMAX 125 scooter and a Honda Jazz.
