UPDATE: Pair bailed over Redditch car theft

WEST Mercia police chased a stolen Ford Focus which was heading into Redditch and arrested the occupants after the force helicopter was brought in.

 Two men were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, handling stolen goods and dangerous driving.

A 21-year-old, from Wychbold and a 16-year-old from Shard End were arrested on Friday, January 12 after a suspected cloned vehicle failed to stop for police whilst driving on the A435 towards Redditch.

Officers found tools, gloves and balaclavas inside the stolen vehicle on Friday (January 12).

They pursued it from Redditch into Birmingham.

The driver and passenger left the car and ran off but they were found hiding in gardens nearby and arrested thanks to information from the police helicopter.




Both detainees were interviewed and bailed with conditions while further enquiries are conducted.
