THE RING of Light event which was due to take place at Arrow Valley Lake on Thursday, March 20, has had to be cancelled.
The organisers have apologised on the event’s Facebook page and hope to reschedule the event at some point in the future.
The 5k ‘Ring of Light’ was due to see participants stroll with orange and pink glow sticks in a bid to produce an illuminated circle around the lake for Lee Russon and Helen Nicholls.
The event was organised by James Gould, Lisa Preston, Chris Rice and Lee’s partner Nicole Green, in response to battles being undertaken by two of their friends.
It has been a tough time for everyone who knew Lee Russon after he passed away.
The statement on Facebook said: “We nearly got there but wasn’t quite enough time to meet the councils rules and regs but also we’ve trying to grieve at the same time for our Lee and it just got way to much.
“Thank you to everyone to who came forward to help out with this event really appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts. x
“It’s big big sorry from all of our team and we hope to see many of you when we have new date.
“We love all your support you give to our lovely friends Lee and Helen – Redditch you are amazing as Lee would say.”
