Redditch Editorial 23rd Dec, 2017   0

THOSE finding the festive season difficult this year do not need to suffer in silence with a number of 24-hour helplines available over Christmas and New Year.

Those suffering domestic abuse can contact West Mercia Women’s Aid which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year – including Christmas Day.

The 24 hour helpline numbers are 0800 980 3331 for people in Worcestershire and 0800 783 1359 or 01432 356146 or visit West Mercia Women’s Aid online.

Children and young people worried about family arguments, money, eating problems or anything else at Christmas, can contact Childline for free, confidential support and advice.

Childline is open 24 hours a day on 0800 1111 or at www.childline.org.uk throughout Christmas and New Year.

FOR anyone else having a tough time or feeling alone this Christmas, volunteers from Samaritans will be on hand for a staggering 123,000 hours over the festive season.

Samaritans offer a safe place to talk any time you like about whatever’s getting to you down, from mental health, family issues, loneliness, relationship problems, physical health, violence, abuse and bereavement.

You don’t have to be suicidal to call Samaritans, and it is free – call 116 123, or email [email protected]
