Vehicle crime prevention on the docket at police surgery

Redditch Editorial 7th Dec, 2023   0

ADVICE on how to keep your vehicle safe from criminals is on offer at a prevention session being held in Redditch later in December.

Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNTs) and Proactive CID teams will be on hand to speak to members of the public to help them protect their cars from car key burglaries and keyless thefts.

The session is being held on Saturday, December 9 from 11am to 3pm in Sainsbury’s car park, Abbey Trading Centre, Alvechurch Highway.

There will be giveaways including vehicle scrapers, information on the Smartwater property marking system, plus there will be the opportunity to enter a prize draw to win steering locks, ring doorbells and key tags by signing up to the police’s Neighbourhood Matters website.

Detective Sergeant Kelle Westwood from North Worcestershire CID said: “We are encouraging motorists to drop by at one of our advice surgeries to get the latest information we have on protecting their vehicles from being stolen or broken into.

“We are going out to these locations as they are hopefully convenient for people to attend in response to the community’s concerns over burglary, to engage with the public and offer reassurance.”
