THERE were thrills and spills galore at the Alcester Court Leet and Alcester Town FC Champions League Tournament last Sunday, June 23.
Featuring 13 six-a-side teams of over 35-year-olds they were all cheered on by family and friends well fed and watered by the open bar and busy barbecue.
The format of teams sorted into two pools with each game consisting of ten minutes saw Redditch Borough FC Veterans emerge to contest the final against Alcester Rovers Legends the Worcestershire lads emerging victorious 3-0.
The Court Leet team didn’t let the side down either, finishing higher than last year in a commendable fifth.
Proceeds from the tournament will be split between the Court Leet and Alcester Town FC.
