A VETERANS Family Day is to be held at the Foxlydiate Arms in Birchfield Road tomorrow (November 10).
It’s been organised by ex- and serving members of The Queens Royal Hussars who come together every Remembrance weekend to honour and respect fallen comrades.
“The day will have a bouncy castle, face painting, entertainment, live music, food, DJ and some raffles/auctions to raise money towards the cost of the day and also to go towards Christmas presents for the children of the departed soldiers,” said ex-soldier Ray Flynn.
Donations have included a signed Glasgow Rangers shirt, a signed Wales International rugby jersey, a signed Aston Villa shirt, and treats from Cadbury and Haribo.
He added: “The amount of work done by all of the ex-servicemen and their families, to make this a success, has been truly amazing and, as is always the way, we wish to try and bring positives and love from tragedy and loss.”
It starts at 12noon.
