Vintage Day, eco church, Street Beats and more this Saturday

Redditch Editorial 30th Jul, 2021   0

THERE is loads going on around Church Green this Saturday, July 31.

Visitors will be able to take a trip down memory lane as the town’s bandstand hosts a Vintage Day with classic cars and Royal Enfield motorbikes – built in Redditch – promised.

And that’s not all, St Stephen’s Church will be holding an eco church event with lots of activities for all members of the family.

All the energy used by St Stephen’s comes from natural resources and church warden Elaine Whitfield said as well as having fun the emphasis would be on how important it is to look after nature and creation.

So people will be able to make bird feeders, bottle spinners and seed bombs as well as collect free plants.

Joining in will be music from the fabulous musicians of Street Beats plus there will be a Punch and Judy show and community stalls.

Redditch Borough Council’s portfolio for leisure Councillor Mike Rouse said: “I am delighted to see events starting to come back in partnership with the people and communities who bring them to life.

“We’re off to a good start with the Street Beats programme that has been developed in partnership with the Revitalise Redditch BID, and now we can add the Vintage bandstand event to the list of good things.”

Council Leader Matt Dormer added: “We want everyone to enjoy this event safely so please do your bit to keep each other safe.”

Residents can bring a picnic too for what promises to be a fun filled and afternoon.
