Visitors from around the world expected for Bonham Festival

Redditch Editorial 19th Aug, 2021   0

THIS year’s John Bonham festival celebrating the legendary drummer of rock band Led Zeppelin takes place on Saturday, September 25 in Redditch town centre.

John ‘Bonzo’ Bonham was a famous son of Redditch and this year marks the 41st anniversary of his sad passing.

As well as a six hour open air blues rock festival within Arena Redditch – the former covered market area – featuring seven bands from around Midlands and South West region, there will be two headline act shows at the Palace Theatre, a matinee and an evening performance, each with a different line up of four top Rock/Blues artists.

One again it’s all in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust West Midlands.

And as with the inaugural event in 2018, this year’s spectacular will see visitors from around the UK and overseas descend on the town.

More music and entertainment is promised on the day as a Fringe Festival will also take place around the Church Green featuring local performance arts – music, dance, comedy, magic, poetry, circus skills, and more.

The Teenage Cancer Trust has a team of specialist outreach nurses who work out of Birmingham Children’s Hospital, the QE and Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and cover a wide area including Redditch and the rest of Worcestershire.
