IT WAS all smiles – and mince pies – at the Redditch Carers Careline Christmas Coffee Afternoon.
The get-together provided an opportunity for the town’s hard-working army of carers to join the charity’s staff and volunteers as the festive season gathers pace.
Redditch Carers Careline plays a vital role in the town providing a range of services for those caring for the needs of someone else, be it a spouse, child, parent, other family member, neighbour or friend.
The charity offers support groups, a drop-in service, events, keep fit classes, a vital form filling service, counselling, a bereavement group and respite care.
It has been supporting the people of Redditch for 35 years and relies totally on donations and grants.
According to figures from Carers UK in 2023 unpaid carers, including the ones in Redditch, have saved the UK economy £445million per day, which makes £162billion a year.
Redditch Carers Careline is based at the Ecumenical Centre off Evesham Walk in the town centre.
