Volunteers wanted to help wrap Christmas gifts at The Space in Winyates

A COMMUNITY interest company is looking for volunteers to help wrap Christmas presents this year.

REACH CIC, based at The Space in Winyates Centre, hopes to raise enough money to help keep its vital services running.

The service offers a support system for families, works to reduce anti-social behaviour and improves residents’ skills and confidence.

REACH CIC user Julie Cacciottolo has organised the Christmas Gift Wrapping Cafe for December 10 and 14 at The Space.

“People can come in, have a cup of tea and get their gifts wrapped from just 25p each up to £1, including wrapping paper,” said Julie.

“I think it’s perfect for anyone who feels like they don’t have enough time over Christmas or are feeling stressed because of the holiday season.”

Julie wants to give something back to the non-profit organisation which has given her a ‘home’ and a ‘place to go’ after her mum’s death a few years ago.

“The group really helped me through some tough times and I can’t thank them enough.

“While it’s all about raising money for a good cause it’s also an opportunity for Redditch’s community to get together over Christmas.”

On both dates the events will run from 10am to 3pm.

There will be coffee, mince pies, hot chocolate and marshmallows available in return for donations.

Rachel Ind, children and families co-ordinator at REACH CIC said: “It doesn’t matter if volunteers offer 30 minutes or three hours of their day to wrap presents.

“Every small contributions will help us massively.”
