PEOPLE in Redditch can get their Covid-19 vaccination in Redditch this Thursday, July 15 at a special walk-in clinic in the town centre.
It’s available for anyone who is 18 or over and hasn’t had their Covid-19 vaccination yet.
This is in addition to the walk-in clinic operated by Knights Pharmacy at their headquarters in Palmers Road, South Moons Moat.
At both locations no appointment is necessary.
The town centre walk-in vaccination clinic is open from 11am to 3pm at the Church Green area in the town centre, next to St Stephen’s Church.
The clinic is being delivered by St John Ambulance, with support from St Stephen’s Church, which is opening its doors so people who have been vaccinated can sit comfortably for the 15 minutes waiting time.
All adults are now eligible to receive the vaccine and this is a simple and easy way for people to have their first dose only.
Those who have not received a first dose of a Covid vaccination are particularly encouraged to attend this walk-in clinic.
Dr Kathryn Cobain, Director of Public Health for Worcestershire said: “I am so thankful to our local NHS partners and St John Ambulance who have once again joined with us to put on the latest walk-in clinic.
“We have seen a great response from people to get their vaccination and walk-in clinics like this one make it easier for residents to drop in and get their first vaccine.
“Vaccination is so important, not only as it protects the person receiving the vaccine, but it also helps to protect their loved ones and the community.”
The Rev. Paul Lawlor, vicar at St Stephen’s and town centre chaplain added: “It is our privilege to be able to support the Grab a Jab walk-in clinic and Public Health Worcestershire.
“We are blessed with an excellent town centre location and enjoy being able to aid those seeking to help the community of Redditch.
“We are opening St Stephen’s so that people who have the jab can come and sit somewhere quiet for 15 minutes.
“In my view by having the jab we seek to love our neighbours as we love ourselves.”
Knights Pharmacy is offering both the Pfizer and AstraZenica jabs.
As well as being open today, Thursday, it is also open on Friday, July 16, from 9am to 6pm.
All first doses are being offered and second doses if at least eight weeks have elapsed since the first dose.
