'Walking skeletons' - Animal officer's shock at mistreated dogs found in Redditch

TWO DOGS have been found in an appalling condition in Redditch due to the actions of cruel pet owners.

Worcestershire Regulatory Services Animal Welfare Team, which found the pair and have named them Brook and Barley, described them as ‘walking skeletons’.

They added the German shepherds had hardly any fur, sarcoptic mange and were covered in sores.

The dogs were rescued from a highway in Redditch and were taken to the vets for urgently needed treatment.

Animal welfare officer Pip Griffin said: “We have all had sleepless nights about these poor souls who were in such pain they were ripping their own sores.

“How can a human act so inhumanely against poor defenceless creatures, causing them such pain and suffering?

“I urge the public, who will have to help foot the bill for these abhorrent actions, to help bring those responsible to justice.

“If you recognise these animals please get in touch.”

Anyone with information on Brook or Barley should call the WRS team on 01905 822799.
