Redditch residents are set to benefit from improved facilities this April as phase two of a redevelopment scheme begins.
From April 3, for around six weeks, redevelopment works in Lock Close in Batchley will continue with the removal of internal bin shoots in the surrounding flats and the development of a large bin area in the centre of the close.
The new bin storage area will mean that residents will now have the opportunity to recycle and will begin a two week collection service in line with the majority of the borough. The new layout also means waste collection vehicles can navigate the close more easily, making the service more efficient.
Coun Debbie Chance, whose portfolio covers Environmental Services, said: “We will aim to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible and apologise for any inconvenience caused. We are really pleased that the residents of Lock close will benefit from the previous landscaping and improvement works and as a bonus now have an improved waste collection service in line with the majority of the borough.”
