Following the announcement by JD Wetherspoon that The Rising Sun was being put up for sale, Standard readers gave us their opinions on the current hospitality offerings in the town centre.
We also asked Coun Dormer about the Borough Councils plans for the library and a new community hub.
Members will be asked to endorse the Draft Redditch Town Investment Plan Business Case at tonight’s meeting of the council’s executive committee.
This includes a proposal to move the library to the Town Hall which will be transformed into a Community Hub.
Plans would see the library situated on the ground and first floors, with the Council Chamber and Civic suite being moved to the second floor of the building.
The site where the library is currently situated will include a new public plaza, events space, bars and restaurants.
