ENTRIES have opened for the 2025 Wythall and Hollywood Fun Run.
The event, supported by world and Olympic medallist Steve Cram and the Events of the North team, includes a 5k, 10k and Families on Track relay race, making it perfect for runners of all abilities and ages.
Every runner will receive a bespoke medal designed especially for the event, which will take place on June 22.
This year’s event will raise funds for Acorns Children’s Hospice, the main charity partner.
Coun David Ross, cabinet member for health and wellbeing at Worcestershire County Council, said: “The Wythall and Hollywood Fun Run isn’t just about running – it’s about bringing people together, fostering community spirit, and encouraging healthier lifestyles.
“We’re grateful to our all partners for their hard work in making this event happen.”
Steve Cram added:”The traffic-free running routes and the fun, family-friendly atmosphere make this such a stand-out grassroots event.
“The course is perfect for all abilities, whether you’re graduating from the Couch to 5K programme or a seasoned runner, looking for your personal best.
“Make sure you come and join us for a real festival of running in Wythall.”
Sophie Boreham, Acorns Children’s Hospice’s events manager, said: “We are the local children’s hospice for Wythall and Hollywood and Wythall is home to Acorns central office, so it means a great deal to be able to raise awareness of our children’s hospice care by partnering with one of the area’s biggest and best-loved events.
“It costs £35,000 each day to run our three hospices and provide our lifeline care and support for seriously ill children and their families.
“Help can’t wait for these families, so it would be amazing if anyone signing up could join ‘Team Acorns’ and help raise funds towards our vital care.”
New for this year, we at the Standard are the official media partner for the event.
Tristan Harris, editor of the Bromsgrove and Redditch Standards, added: “We have always taken pride in being the district’s number one community newspaper and also love to promote local events and help our readers stay fit and healthy.
“So, it is great to be one of the Wythall Fun Run’s official partners.
“Hopefully we can help inspire more runners, eclipse last year’s already impressive total of participants and make the race and fun day even bigger and better.”
In addition to the races, Wythall Community Association will host a family fun day with food stalls, entertainment, and activity taster sessions.
