West Mercia's top cops invite Redditch residents to join them for web chat

Redditch Editorial 27th Oct, 2016   0

WEST Mercia Police’s senior officers are inviting you to chat with them during a special online event next week.
The webchat will take place on Wednesday evening (November 2) and forms part of Protect 2016; a ten day event that’s aimed at giving people an insight into modern-day policing and the full spectrum of work that’s carried out each day by the police workforce to protect the public from harm.
Former Redditch beat bobbies Chief Constable Anthony Bangham and Assistant Chief Constable Amanda Blakeman, together with Deputy Chief Constable (DCC) Chris Singer will be hosting the live chat between 6pm and 8pm on Wednesday, giving people an opportunity to ask any questions they have about West Mercia Police.
DCC Chris Singer, who is leading Protect 2016, said: “Ensuring that the public we serve have opportunities to talk to us and ask us questions is vitally important.
“We regularly engage with our communities and aim to use a range of formats to make us as accessible to you as possible. By hosting this online forum we hope to give those of you who are unable to attend community events, for example, another platform to engage with us and on this occasion you can even do it from the comfort of your own home.
“We’d like to hear from you and I look forward to responding to your questions and speaking to all those who choose to take part.”
