Where Next? able to bank on support from Redditch

BIG-hearted youngsters from Redditch’s Kerala Cultural Association (KCA) joined with the local branch of the TSB in a fund-raising driver for the Where Next? charity last Saturday in Redditch town centre.

The team of Jennet Vembillil, Jency Paul, Anisha Jacob and Jewel Johnson set themselves up in gazebos – complete with free electricity – donated by local market operator Sketts and immediately found their efforts were rewarded by local people.

Selling homemade samosas, cup cakes and warming tea and coffee, as well as winter plants grown by users and staff from Where Next? they urged people to remember those less fortunate than themselves during the festive period.

The whole awareness event was supported by TSB which works closely with local communities throughout the country and has adopted Where Next? as its local charity for the year.

Jency said: ‘’The event was a big success as the main aim was to generate awareness through young adults in KCA about helping our local charities.

“We are planning bigger in the new year as events like these help the girls’ confidence as well as delivering true satisfaction.

“We managed to raise around £300 and are grateful to TSB for their support and participation in our local event.’’

Lizomon Mapranath, assitant manager at the Unicorn Hill branch of TSB said: “The girls put in a tremendous effort and we are delighted at the response they got from the people of Redditch. Well done!”

Where Next? is a local charity providing work experience and training for people with learning disabilities or those disadvantaged in some way, helping them reach their full potential and discover new talents and skills.
