Winyates Post Office officially reopened after new owners' major revamp

WINYATES Post Office has been officially re-opened after major improvements undertaken by new owners.

Saumya Naudville is the new postmistress and will run the store alongside her husband, Raj Singh.

The previous postmaster resigned and the branch temporarily closed at the end of May.

The branch then underwent major work to modernise the premises and to fully stock the convenience store including new refrigeration for fresh products.

Owners Saumya Naudville and Raj Singh said: “Customers are really pleased to have their Post Office back open. They are impressed with all of the changes we have made.

“We have new shelving and refrigeration and there is a wide retail range that we stock including meat, fresh vegetables, food, drinks, snacks, cleaning products and toiletries. We have another shop in Bromsgrove, so we know what works well.

“This is our first Post Office and we are excited to have this new-look shop and Post Office. We are very community-minded. We had a fresh start with the retail range and we donated produce to the nearby food charity.”

Post Office Network Area Change Manager, Kully Dosanjh, said: “We know how important a Post Office is to a community and we are delighted to have restored service at this new-look store and with very convenient opening hours.”

Redditch MP Chris Bloore officially opened the new store.

He said: “It is crucial to have Post Offices in residential areas like Winyates Way so that constituents can easily visit to get the services they need.

“I want to thank Saumya and Raj for their big investment into their shop. It looks great – light, bright and modern and fully-stocked.

“The daily opening from early until late is very convenient for customers to visit. With bank branch closures it’s very handy that people can do their everyday banking here.”

The opening hours are Monday to Sunday from 7.30am until 10pm.
